A stronger foundation for our social community.
We’re proud to announce that Fade Platforms Inc.’s application for Microsoft’s PhotoDNA Cloud Service has been approved. Our infrastructure team is now integrating PhotoDNA into FADE’s moderation workflow.
FADE brings posts, stories, Notes, coin rooms and private conversations together. Building that social experience also means setting clear boundaries, giving people ways to report concerns and continuing to improve the systems behind our Community Guidelines.
What the approval means.
Microsoft describes PhotoDNA Cloud Service as a service for qualified organizations, with applications evaluated on a case-by-case basis through a third-party vetting process. FADE’s application has been approved for that service.
The approval concerns PhotoDNA Cloud Service participation. It is not a Microsoft sponsorship, a partnership announcement or a certification of FADE’s entire app, security or trading experience.
A focused role in image moderation.
PhotoDNA helps identify known child sexual abuse images by comparing image signatures with signatures of known material. The planned integration adds that specific capability to FADE’s community safety work.
PhotoDNA is not a general assessment of every post or conversation. It does not replace community reports, moderation decisions or other work needed to address harassment, impersonation, scams and abuse.
Clear rules. Continuing work.
FADE’s Community Guidelines prohibit sexual content involving minors, non-consensual sexual content, credible threats, phishing and other serious abuse. Those rules apply to participation in FADE’s community.
Technology supports that work; it does not make a community safe by itself. We will continue improving reporting and enforcement around the people and conversations that make FADE worth returning to. If you encounter a concern, use the app’s reporting tools or contact support@fade.family. Describe the issue without forwarding illegal or harmful images.
Integration is underway.
PhotoDNA screening is not yet live. Infrastructure is setting up the integration now, and live operation still needs to be verified.
This announcement marks FADE’s approval and the work now underway. We will update the rollout status after the integration has been validated in production. A safer social community takes continued attention, and this is one part of that commitment.
