Effective September 12, 2026
People post photos, clips and stories on FADE. If something here is yours and you did not agree to it being posted, tell us and we will take it down.
Reporting something that infringes your copyright
Send a notice to copyright@fade.family. For us to act on it, it has to include all six of these — that list is not us being difficult, it is what the law requires a valid notice to contain:
- Your signature (typing your full name in the email counts).
- What work you say was copied.
- A link to the exact post, clip, story or profile photo on FADE — not a general description, the actual link.
- How we can reach you: email, and a phone number or address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
We remove content that is the subject of a valid notice, and we tell the person who posted it what happened.
If we removed something of yours by mistake
Send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, a link to what was removed, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was taken down in error. Say that you accept the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district, and that you will accept service from the person who filed the original notice. If the claimant does not go to court within 10 to 14 business days, we may put the content back.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly post other people's work are terminated. That is a condition of using FADE, not a discretionary punishment.
Careful what you send
Knowingly filing a false notice — or a false counter-notice — carries liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f). If you are not sure whether a use is infringing, talk to a lawyer first.
