Effective September 14, 2026
FADE is a place people argue about memecoins. It is loud, it is rude, and most of that is fine. These guidelines exist so it stays a place worth being loud in.
The short version: we are lenient about what you say and hard about what you do to people's money. Call someone's bag garbage all day. Send someone a contract address you know is a fake, and you are gone the first time.
Trader rankings and leaderboard awards
The trader leaderboard is for accounts with an activated embedded trading wallet. An eligible trader can have a zero balance or no trades; social-only accounts are excluded. Rankings use dollar trading profit and loss (P&L), highest first, for 24H, 7D, 30D, or All-time. Gains rank above zero and zero above losses; smaller losses rank above larger losses. Equal P&L is ordered by account seniority, with the oldest account first. Depositing money or holding a large portfolio does not count as trading profit.
Each period has separate standings. The “You” card follows the period you select. Shorter-period lists show up to 150 traders and All-time up to 100; an unavailable value must not be treated as zero. Reporting gaps or corrections can change displayed results.
Gold, silver, and bronze identify first, second, and third place in All-time standings.These awards follow the current holders and change when their All-time positions change. A 24H, 7D, or 30D lead does not grant an account-wide medal, and fourth place has no award. A leaderboard award takes display priority over ordinary verification; an existing verification badge returns when the account leaves the top three.
A leaderboard award is not identity verification, investment advice, or a guarantee of future results. Do not impersonate an award holder, falsify performance records, or manipulate activity to mislead other users. Report suspected manipulation through the app’s reporting tools or contact support@fade.family.
What we do not moderate
Worth saying first, because it is most of what happens here:
- being wrong — about a coin, a chart, a call, anything;
- trash talk, cope, ratio'ing, telling someone their coin is going to zero;
- profanity, crude jokes, and the general register of a memecoin room;
- a bad call that lost people money, made in good faith;
- an unpopular opinion about a coin, a dev, or the market.
Being a degenerate is not a violation. Nobody is removed from FADE for having terrible taste in coins or for saying so loudly.
What ends an account immediately
No warning, no ladder, first time. These are the things that cannot be undone by deleting a post:
- sexual content involving minors;
- sexualised content of a real person posted without their consent;
- credible threats of violence against anyone;
- drainer links, phishing, fake giveaways and fake airdrops — anything whose purpose is to get a wallet connected or a seed phrase typed;
- posting a contract address you know is a clone of another token in order to get someone to buy the wrong thing;
- impersonating a person or a coin's team — including a handle, display name or avatar built to be mistaken for someone else;
- coming back on a new account after a ban.
The middle three are the ones that make this list different from a normal social app's. They are here because they are how people in this space actually get robbed, and because every one of them is worth real money to the person doing it.
What is enforced in steps
Everything else. Roughly in the order it comes up:
- spam, flooding, bot posting, and running multiple accounts to look like a crowd;
- harassment of a specific person, and pile-ons you organise;
- attacks on people for who they are, rather than for what they bought;
- posting someone's private information;
- organised pump-and-dump coordination;
- links in rooms (see below);
- gore, and content promoting self-harm.
How enforcement escalates
We start from the assumption that you did not mean it. Most first violations cost nothing but the post. From there it scales with two things: how bad it was, and whether you keep doing it.
- Nothing. A one-off, low-severity, in-context. Most reports end here.
- The content comes down. The account is untouched.
- Reduced reach. Your posts stay on your profile and your followers still see them. They stop being recommended to people who did not ask for them.
- Read-only. You can read everything and you cannot post, for a set period. This is the step that ends most repeat problems.
- Suspension. Time-limited, and you are told what ended it and when it lifts.
- Permanent. The account is gone and the handle is retired with it.
We do not publish the exact thresholds, and that is on purpose. A published number — how many reports, how many strikes — is a set of instructions for anyone who wants to get a rival removed by bringing enough accounts. Mass-false-reporting is a real, organised tactic, not a hypothetical. Reports are weighed, not counted.
Reporting
In the FADE app, hold any message and report it. In rooms, the flag goes on the account, not the message — room messages expire, and a report pointing at one would name something nobody can read by the time it is looked at. The message text is copied into the report at the moment you file it, so the evidence survives the thing it came from.
In the app you can also block anyone, which stops them interacting with you or seeing your posts, and mute anyone, which quietly removes them from your feed without telling them. Neither requires a reason and neither is reviewed by us. A block made in the app holds on the website too. Reporting, blocking and muting are not on the website yet.
Reports are read by a person. The immediate-termination list above is acted on as soon as we see it; everything else is worked through in order. We are a small team and we would rather tell you that than publish a response time we cannot hold.
False reporting is itself a violation. Filing reports you know to be baseless — or organising other people to — is enforced on the same ladder as anything else.
Rooms have one extra rule
No links. Not shortened, not disguised, not “just this once”. A room full of strangers holding a contract address is exactly the place a drained wallet starts, and the tricks used to get a bad link past a filter — URL shorteners, lookalike characters from other alphabets that render identically to real ones — are good enough that no filter we could write would reliably win. So the rule is the whole category, and it is enforced rather than filtered.
Check contract addresses against the coin's own page, not against chat. FADE shows you a room's contract address in the room's info sheet, from our own index. An address pasted by a stranger is a stranger's claim about a coin. Copy from the first, never the second — the clone-token scam depends entirely on people doing the opposite.
Your handle
Deleted your own account: the handle goes back in the pool and someone else can take it.
Banned: the handle is retired and nobody gets it, including you. Releasing it would hand a ready-made disguise to the next person who wants to be mistaken for whoever had it — which, on a platform where identity is the only thing standing between a reader and a fake dev, is the one thing we will not do for the sake of a tidy namespace.
Appeals
Every enforcement action can be appealed. Email support@fade.family with Appeal in the subject, your handle, and what you think happened. A person reads it. Appealing does not guarantee reinstatement, and we will tell you which rule was applied either way.
If an appeal succeeds, the action is reversed and it does not count against you afterwards.
The legal part
This list is not exhaustive and cannot be. This space invents new ways to take people's money faster than any rulebook keeps up. We may remove content or act on an account for behaviour that is obviously in the spirit of what is written here but was not specifically listed, and “it wasn't on the page” is not a defence for something you knew was a scam.
We cannot review everything, and we do not claim to. FADE carries live conversation between strangers. Content is not checked before it appears, we will not catch everything, and the fact that something is still up does not mean we looked at it and approved it. Do not treat the absence of a moderation action as a safety signal — check every contract address yourself, every time.
Enforcement is at our discretion. Nothing here creates an obligation to act in a particular case, in a particular time, or at all, and we may act on something once and not the next time without that being a precedent. Where behaviour appears to break the law, we may refer it to law enforcement and provide what we hold.
Sexual content involving minors is reported, not just removed. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as well as terminating the account.
These guidelines are not the contract. The Terms of use govern your relationship with FADE, and where these guidelines and the Terms disagree, the Terms win. This page describes how we apply them.
These will change
This space invents new ways to rob people faster than any rulebook keeps up. When something new shows up, this page gets a new line and we will say so in the app. The two halves of the posture will not change: wide latitude for what you say, none at all for taking people's money.
